#9157 God

Posted by Angel on 25 May 2012 - 03:17 PM

There are two believers up there who keep saying that they wouldn't force the others to start believing in God, but their responses in the thread shows that they intend to.

Anyways, I don't. I am not into all this religion because I actually have an idea on how this thing all started. Back in second year we were studying about religions, and heck I remember seeing one being created just so they don't have to pay for the property they're in and now it has a huge population of believers. There are other reasons in my case but I really don't feel like blurting it all out here, just in case I "offend" someone.

P.S.
There are people who do nice things because they don't want to be punished by God and they want to go to heaven. There are non believers who genuinely do good things because they're just like that.

Yeah, arguments and debates about religion can turn offensive most of the time because believers consider religion as their way of life. And I totally agree with your P.S. :) Religion doesn't equate to morality. In fact, I know a lot of atheists and agnostics who live a more noble life than the so-called religious people.

#9049 15 styles of distorted thinking

Posted by Angel on 23 May 2012 - 08:23 AM

Hi Angel
I found your post interesting as i'm interested in the way people think. Do you study psychology by any chance. If so are there any books/websites that you could recommend.

Yes, I'm a psychology major. :) http://www.apa.org/ is the American Psychological Organization; that's the only psych site I regularly visit. Most of the time, I just google my topics and go from there. Haha!

http://www.spring.org.uk/ and http://www.psychologytoday.com/ have very interesting psych articles.

#7829 What is the hardest decision you have made so far?

Posted by Parker on 21 April 2012 - 08:54 PM

My hardest decision was to take care of my terminally ill father. I really didn't want to do because I never faced death. I also lived in a different part of the state. I really glad that I did because no one else in the family stepped up. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but it's also the thing that gives me the most pride. I was there when he took his last breath and I'm so glad that he wasn't alone.

Being aware of these helps you to stop yourself from thinking negatively. Most of the times, being level-headed, objective, or optimistic helps you look at life in a brighter perspective. :)

#7132 Irritations in the office

Posted by yellowfish on 09 April 2012 - 11:55 AM

What has irritated you in the office and how did you resolve it.

Years ago when i had just started working one of the senior managers had a habit of asking female jnr members to make drinks. I worked there for approx 3 months on a short term contract but during the whole of the time i worked there, he had never asked me to get the drinks in. On my last day one of the girls in the office pointed this out to me and wondered why. I told her that he had asked me but i told him that i had a fungal disease on my hand and it became contagious when damp completely untrue of course but he never asked me again :)

#11532 Sorry

Posted by Shole on 19 August 2012 - 07:56 AM

Sorry for all the things I said
For those things that made you sad
For all the tears you let
For all the fears you had
Sorry for being a fool
I am not the one to make a rule
I am sorry for every thing I said
Please don't be mad
