Banana is very much a staple fruit of India. It consist mainly of sugars and fiber, which makes them ideal for an immediate and slightly prolonged source of energy. hey contain a lot of iron, which is extremely helpful to those suffering from anemia, as it stimulates the growth of hemoglobin in the body. Bananas are a great food for ulcer patients, one of the few foods many ulcer patients can eat without suffering setbacks and pain.

This is true. My dad has ulcer and he said it seems bananas are all he could eat nowadays. Bananas are abundant in our country, too. Hey, we have a loooot of banana trees in our yard. :P We always include them in our meals cause my grandma's adamant about it. Haha!

Bananas do not contain iron. I think you are confusing iron with potassium. Bananas are rich in potassium, an essential mineral. Bananas are also rich in fiber, manganese, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C. Bananas are very good for you but I would eat them in moderation because of the high sugar content.

Thanks for sharing this. Banana is one of my favourite fruits. I usually eat it before going gym or after a meal

Eating after your workout would be a better idea. Your muscles will be depleted of glycogen post-workout, eating a banana will replenish your glycogen stores and begin the recovery process. Banana is a high sugar fruit, eating it post-workout is ideal.
