No doubt, the opinions of those who favor or are against the medical marijuana legalization have grown since the Controlled Substances Act was modified in 1972. Since 1972, the Controlled Substances Act denied the accepted medicinal use of marijuana. However, thousands of people in United States of America think otherwise. This is one of the many reasons for medical marijuana legalization in 16 States of U.S.A. The main reason behind medical marijuana legalization is the fact that many scientific research and studies have proven the medicinal value of marijuana and the effectiveness of this natural plant in the treatment of many life-threatening diseases.

True, marijuana has a great medicinal value. But like any other med, it poses huge negative effects if abused.

I wish medical marijuana was available when my Dad was sick with cancer. He completely lost his appetite and lost a tremendous amount of weight. We had to obtain so through less "legal" means. I don't understand why marijuana is so marginalized. As far as I'm concerned, cigarettes, chewing tobacco and alcohol do a lot more damage.

Previous generations were fed inaccuate or even exagerated pit falls of this drug. When you tell poele one thing, they are inclined to believe it, and not look for later studies to confirm or deny the origianl findings.

I honestly couldn't care less if it was legal or not, because regardless people would do it. It isn't like if it was legal, everyone would rush to get some "mary jane" or anything. More than anything, people who need it and know they need it for medical purposes will do it for the right reasons, and that is what matters.

Legalizing weed for medical use? It's already legal in my state. There's also an initiative to legalize weed for recreational use on the ballot this November in my state.
