What do you prefer to get for your birthday (or other occasions)? A physical gift? Or a Gift Card?
For me it depends on who. My family typically asks me what I want and I tell them, and they get it. I prefer that because I feel like they care about what I want. When I get money, although it is great, I feel like it is because they don't care enough. The only exception - a few family members can't shop for me, or else I get things way too large/small, so we just told them to get gift cards. xD

I would say physical gifts rather than gift cards. A gift card is like the lazy option for giving someone a gift.

I agree with Teekay. Gift cards are an easy option whereas the charm is that of thinking and finding a gift for someone.
