It is just me or has kids shows really taken a turn for the worst? Most kid tv shows are very explicit and don't teach kids any life skills and gives them no education.

I remember when I was younger I would watch The Magic School Bus, Arthur, The Big Comfy Couch, and more educational shows. Now there is  Toopy and Binoo, Wee 3, and Rolie Polie Olie.

Would you let your kids watch most kid TV shows now in days?

I wouldn't. I would honestly find Barney movies, The Magic School Bus DVD's, Arthur.. And let my kid watch that.

It really would depend on the show and how old the kids are. Some kid shows that I let my younger ones watch are Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid, and Thomas the Train. My oldest one who is six watches spongebob, which is totally an adult cartoon, but she loves it anyway.

Honestly, it depends on what channel you are watching, i feel like a lot of the shows that you are referencing are in accordance to the shows that were aired on PBS which was meant to be an educational channel.

It all really varies, the educational cartoons are still available you just gotta find them :)

I think Adventure Time is very good.  It has a rich setting, and events in episodes having consequences for later episodes.

It doesn't matter. We'll work them up to Family Guy in short order, and of course reruns of South Park. Good family entertainment... Well, for the common folk anyways. I grew up with the classics... Bugsy and the gang. We're busy murdering those characters now... No really. This is what your kids will grow up watching...

Good wholesome family television...

Oh it's not just Family Guy and South Park...

And they will play wholesome games like...

But yes we'll still show what many of you consider the classics...

If you want to know what the future of Childrens television looks like, check out the multitude of raunchy crap on AdultSwim.

Robot Chicken is just the tip of the Iceberg.

We've got big plans for helping parents mold the young minds of their litter.

We know by watching your choices what your priorities are and we are working hard to ensure your children grow up to consider absolutely nothing sacred and are at the same time hypersexualized and at the very least borderline sociopathic. We share your priorities and understand the type of society you are trying to create and we have been working behind the scenes for decades to bring your vision to life. We've already got shelved pilots of crudely drawn cartoons loaded with profanity, toilet humor, and both doodled and live action porn, gore, and exaggerated bodily excretions just waiting for the right time to be brought to the Saturday morning line-up. It's still some years off, but we're well ahead of our projected timeline.

... You're welcome.
