#12065 Music You Hate The Most

Posted by Mystique on 24 August 2012 - 04:05 PM

Another vote for heavy metal music. I can't stand it. It's noisy and I can hardly understand what the band is singing about!

#11689 Have you heard of CHATIME?

Posted by Mystique on 21 August 2012 - 05:59 AM

It's tea with those flavoured pearls or pudding - have you guys tried it? It's quite new in Malaysia and on it's cover, I see that it's popular in UK, US, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore.

I tried my first Chatime this afternoon - Very Vanilla - it's Vanilla-flavoured milk tea with vanilla pudding.. it's not too bad.

Would you try this type of beverage or are you not 'adventurous' enough when it comes to beverages?

#11685 Movies/TV Series - Is Your Life Similar to any of Them?

Posted by Mystique on 21 August 2012 - 05:37 AM

Is identifying with characters close enough to similar life?
I identify a little with Frank out of the TV series Shameless.

I have been wanting to watch Shameless. Is it anything close to Californication?

#11320 Do You Read In The Bath?

Posted by Mystique on 16 August 2012 - 07:16 PM

No, I don't read when I take a bath. My bath time is used to relax and to enjoy it. However, I do have a music player at the end corner of my bathroom, which I would normally put on a classical CD or any music CD that suits the moment.

#11312 Favourite Meal You Cook

Posted by Mystique on 16 August 2012 - 06:56 PM

I love to cook and recently, I have taken interest in baking, as well.

One of my favourite meals to cook:

Chicken & Rice -

Marinate a few pieces of chicken with any herbs/spices (I normally use curry/briyani powder with basil leaves), leave it for a few minutes. Cook some rice (depending on the amount of people in the house). Then, take a pan, put some vegetable oil - just enough to cover the base of the pan and put in the chicken. Close it with the cover and leave it on medium gas/fire until the chicken becomes soft. Once the rice is cooked, leave it until the chicken is cooked and soft. After that, add in the rice to the pan with the chicken (oh you need a big pan for this, or even a wok will do). Stir the dish for 5 minutes (off and on), add a pinch of salt or according to your taste - you can add some vegetables, if you want. I usually put in broccoli or cauliflower. Other times, I just cut slices of fresh cucumber and tomatoes, and garnish the dish with them.

I use skinless chicken and if you like brown rice, it'll work, as well.

#11223 What Position Are You with Siblings

Posted by Mystique on 16 August 2012 - 04:18 AM

I'm the youngest out of four siblings. The only girl. Yeap, three older brothers to watch over me and kick anyone's (guys, of course!) arse if they did anything to me. EVen at the age of 30ish, they look after me very well :) I could not have asked for better siblings! They are awesome and I tell them that, at least, once in a few months :D

#9310 Are you Single Or Not?

Posted by Mystique on 29 May 2012 - 12:53 AM

ive been single forever and probably will be the rest of my life, im fine, i like my life. so much time has passed since ive held a woman it doesnt even bother me, i dont even think of it. of course i wouldnt mind being with someone, i just was irresponsible and dont work, and its not very attractive to women

Some people do enjoy being single more than being with someone. So often, I hear people complaining about their partners, and I always feel that if it were that bad, then you should just break it off and stay single. At times, I do think that being single is a lot easier, but I've gone through a lot and this is the most stable relationship I've been in, so it's worth it.

I don't see anything wrong with people who prefer to be single or are comfortable being single. I hate it when people assume those who are single are just not good enough to have a partner. That's a screwed up way of thinking!

#9163 Waking the Dead

Posted by Mystique on 25 May 2012 - 11:20 PM

If I had to wake up one day and find myself buried six feet under, I would "haunt" the crap out of those who didn't check well enough to know that I was still alive when they buried me!

#8716 Have you ever been to a concert?

Posted by Mystique on 09 May 2012 - 01:30 AM

I've been to several - Paula Abdul (I was 11 years old), Color Me Badd (10 or 11 years old), and Incubus (I was about 24 or 25). Then, in between,I've been to several plays, ballets, and Philharmonic concerts.

When I was 10 years old, my best friend's father owned a company that brought in the artists etc and I had the chance to attend those concerts.

I've seen Ying & Yang, Fatman Scoop as well - I worked with the event company that organized the concert. It was a lot of fun and they were friendly and actually, decent.

I would love to watch MUSE and Coldplay. I missed their concerts when they came over to Malaysia. They performed here (Cape Town) last year - Muse, probably in 2010, and Coldplay 2011 or 2010 - anyway, I missed that too. Blergh.

#8240 Multiculturalism

Posted by Mystique on 29 April 2012 - 11:54 PM

Personally, I feel it is good because it strengthens a nation through various methods/programmes, which work in the path of cross cultural understanding ad the eradication of racism. In addition to that, I believe it would help the full participation of all individuals into economic, political, and social life. I have heard that a number of people claim that it will weaken the national unity, which I do not agree with. I believe that cultural conflict and hate have the tendency to divide a nation, while cooperation, respect, and inclusion promote the unity of a nation.

#8014 I Think I Just Made a Boo-boo

Posted by Mystique on 25 April 2012 - 09:00 PM

Okay, I kid. I just wanted an unusual topic and that was the best I could come up with. Lame, I know.

So, I came across this forum and I knew I had to be part of it because of the layout (it's very soothing) and well, the threads are interesting.

Oh yes, let me introduce myself.

I'm Mystique - no autographs, please, as you can see, I am not THAT Mystique from X-Men.

I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world called Cape Town, South Africa. I was born and bred in exotic Malaysia. I moved to Cape Town about 2 years ago  (I have no idea why I'm smiling and nodding at the same time).

I guess that is it from me... for now. You are welcome to view my profile for more details.

Right. I'm going to browse some threads and perhaps, let people know that I exist.
